Turn on the radio, TV or open most local papers and national magazines and you will find some self ordained expert telling us what we are suppose to believe about everything from Crime on the streets to living our lives. The proliferation of 'experts' in all walks of life is increasing daily. All have an explanation for the ills of mankind and what to do about them. Unfortunately these self styled 'gurus' have nothing new to offer but the same old warn out bandages and 'snake oil' remedies which man has been peddling since the dawn of civilization. (Maybe before.)

Everyone wants a 'quick fix' to their ailments whether physical, economical, mental or spiritual; and someone is always ready to supply the band aide...for a price. We have not learned that ultimate solutions do not come quickly and require some effort and sacrifice on our part. Drug companies and Marketers tout the latest and greatest remedy for 'this ache' or 'that pain'. Our medicine cabinets burst with the pills, capsules, and elixirs to take away the slightest discomfort we currently have or anticipate. Emergency health providers are swamped with those who run to them at the slightest cough, fever, or blemish. Psychologist, psychiatrists and counselors are kept busy trying to give us comfort from our stress and mental disorders, usually only able to provide temporary relief via some 'new' drug to 'lift us up' or 'bring us down'. Churches, synagogues, temples and mosques all get their share of folks seeking spiritual comfort when the others all fail. On top of all that the street drug pushers are ready to provide the 'fix' for what ails you, 'just try this'.

The bottom line is that we seek to avoid the daily strife that comes as a natural result of life on this planet. We seek answers from men who themselves are seeking the same avoidance's. We walk around as though WE are the captains of our destiny and only WE can solve the problems which WE actually have little or no control over. How foolish we have become. We think we have 'Evolved' or are 'evolving' into some more advanced and enlightened species when actually, and if we were truly honest with ourselves, we are degenerating in to reprobate creatures. Our politicians tell us, 'just give us more of your money' and we can solve your problems and take care of you. Do you really think men; fallible, foolish, selfish men will or are even able to fulfill such lofty promises. I tell you NO.

We are on the wrong road. Granted it is a very broad, lighted, and well paved road, but it is the wrong road. The road we seek was a few miles back and it is narrow, not well lit, somewhat overgrown and not well traveled but it is THE WAY, the only way to where we must go. Deep inside we all know we are on the wrong road and we know the right way, but we have been deceived into thinking there is an easier more pleasing way to go. There is not. Oh, the way we are going seems more pleasing, to our sinful flesh and it does provide 'fun'....for a season, but shortly we find that it does not last and we find ourselves lost in the 'maze of self delusion' and now must seek another way.

We are all created with a missing part. We try to fill it with the 'things' of this world, but we always come back to that feeling of emptiness and incompleteness. Somehow we know that only He who created us has the remedy and only He can fill that void in our souls, but our pride will not allow us to surrender to His will and admit we cannot find our way.
